Darrick Doerner Makes Waves With Stanford Who's Who
Darrick Doerner has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his remarkable professional career.
HALEIWA, HI, May 7, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Darrick Doerner has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his remarkable professional career. As Owner of DD Sea Inc., Darrick has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
DD Sea Inc. does business as Darrick Doerner's SEA Adventures. Based on the North Shore of Oahu, Sea Adventures is a program which provides surfers a place where they can really take their surfing and ocean knowledge to the next level while learning to respect other surfers and the environment. They work with surfers of all experience levels, only taking them out in conditions they can handle as well as being fun and challenging for them.
Darrick is an extraordinary surfer with an incredible knowledge of the ocean. He grew up surfing Malibu in the late 60's and early 70's, moving to the island of Hawaii during his senior year of high school to further enhance his skills. Mr. Doerner worked as a lifeguard from 1975-1996, working with some of Hawaii's greatest watermen while learning the finer points of water safety. In 1996, Darrick left lifeguarding to become an ambassador to surfing. He worked with an apparel company and traveled around the world to teach surfing and to share his knowledge with others.
Mr. Doerner worked with the Hawaiian Water Patrol from 1978-2004, which was in charge of water safety for all North Shore surfing contests. His water patrol work for films and TV shows include Big Wednesday, Baywatch, ER, and The Big Bounce. Darrick worked as a stunt double and surf coach for Patrick Swayze in the feature film, Point Break and for James Bond in Die Another Day. His filmography also includes Wake-Up Call, Radical Attitude, Endless Summer 2, In God's Hands , Strapped, Laird, Step Into Liquid, The Ride/The Day, Riding Giants, and All Aboard the Crazy Train.
