BANGKOK, THAILAND, July 29, 2011 /Leisure and Recreation PR News/ -- The Thai Cultural Centre will host a performance by the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra next month that will include adaptations of retro hits from the 1970s.
Taking place on Friday August 26th, the show will see the group give a classical edge to songs by artists as diverse as The Village People, The Jacksons, KC and the Sunshine Band, Candi Staton and Gloria Gaynor.
For the performance, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will be led by John Owen Edwards, who has contributed to musicals and theatre productions such as Annie, Evita, The Phantom of the Opera and La Boheme during his acclaimed career.
He will benefit from having four prestigious soloists in the shape of Anita Louise Combe, Zoe Birkett, Henrik Wager and Dean Chisnall, all of whom have appeared in major shows all over the world.
A large proportion of the concert will be devoted to the Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Earth, Wind and Fire, Boney M and Sister Sledge, with each artist contributing at least three songs.
Tickets start from 500 baht (GBP10.25), with the show due to begin at 20:00 local time.
To reach the venue, take the Metro to the Thailand Cultural Centre stop, which is a ten-minute walk from the facility.
